February/March 2014 Initial Timing - Happy New Year

Charles Trieu
Jan 29, 2014

About the time this issue hits newsstands you should be cornering into the 2014 lap. All of us here at IT have been swamped finishing up the year-end events. This includes our very own annual FR Shootout (which can be seen on the cover of this issue). We organize this event so that you could put your FR (front-engine, rear-wheel-drive) car up against everyone else's to see who can pull off the fastest lap time at Buttonwillow Raceway. Some might think the Nissan Z's will take it with their big six-cylinders, or the S2000s with their awesome balanced chassis, but you never can tell until you see the cars and the drivers on the track.

The end of the year also marks that it's time for our industry-infamous calendar. First off, I want to apologize to the subscribers who are reading this and wondering where their calendar is. The calendar (like most magazine inserts) is, and always has been, only included with the store-bought edition of the magazine. I wish we could give you subscribers the calendars for free, but the truth of the matter is that when you subscribed it did not say you would get all the freebies included in each issue. For the $1.50 you paid per issue it wouldn't even cover the shipping of the calendar. In fact, it doesn't even cover the shipping cost of the magazine, and the paper it's printed on.

But we do love our readers. So just like I do every year I'm going to steal a few boxes of the calendars from the mighty Source Interlink distribution warehouse and send it to you guys from us here at IT. Just email us at postal@importtuner.com with your address and subscriber number (found on the top of your address label), and I will personally label and mail you a calendar (while supplies last). For the ones who read this too late, go out and support us by picking up a newsstand copy with a calendar included. And if you're reading this really late, you can always download the calendar on our website. But trust me, you're going to want to get your hands on these ladies . . . I mean on a hard copy.

As always feel free to give us your input,
