P3Cars Vent Integrated Digital Interface for Mini Cooper Announced

Simple and clean data gauge for R56-59 platforms

Feb 18, 2014

PCars Vent Integrated Digital Interface Details:

  • New diagnostic interface for Mini Cooper R56-59 platforms
  • Mounted around the vent, not in it
  • Displays boost, coolant temp, oil temp, EGT, AIT, RPM, speed, voltage, etc.
  • Equipped with 0-60mph timer, peak function recall and three analog inputs for expansion

Having a direct line of sight to important vehicle data points via a well-placed gauge is paramount to any tuner. Form must meet function though as few want to clutter an already clean cockpit with oversized info/diagnostic displays. P3Cars saw a need for a simple but effective interface for Mini Cooper owners and created the new Vent Integrated Digital Interface (VIDI) for the R56, R57, R58 and R59 platforms, seen here.

The VIDI for Mini is unique in its placement. Instead of mounting the gauge display in the vent fins it attaches to around it, framed to the right of the OE tachometer. The design’s goal was to make it discreet, easily accessed and in line with the British car maker’s interior.

VIDI displays the following readouts: vacuum (n/a applications), boost and vacuum for forced induction, coolant and oil temp, EGT, AIT, RPM, speed, battery voltage and a 0-60mph timer. As expected the new product also offers peak recall on all functions – peak temps stored in background of display. For those interested in expansion, there are three additional analog inputs available as well.

This P3Cars’ product is made in the USA, includes diagnostic software tailored to Minis, and color-matched LED illumination. Keeping tabs on your vehicle’s mechanical performance under throttle is important and here is a new option for doing so. Pricing TBA.
