Dubai adds a Veyron to its super fleet.

Jun 5, 2014

What does your local police officer drive? Ford Crown Victorias? Dodge Chargers? If you live in Dubai then there's a good chance that they'll be driving a Bugatti Veyron, a $1.6 million car with a top speed of 267 mph and the ability to go from 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds. In a city known for its luxury and wealth this vehicle is just the latest addition to the Dubai police force's "super fleet."

Used to break down the barrier between the Dubai police force and their community and market police services to the people the super fleet has a collective value of around $6 million and is made up of Aston Martins, Ferraris, Lamborghinis and other high class vehicles that the police parade through the most luxurious parts of Dubai, allowing locals to take pictures and marvel at such an impressive sight.

Global news site Vocativ was able to find that simply driving through the streets of Dubai sets off a firestorm of social media activity. They were able to track the fleet's progress through the city just by watching new uploads on Instagram and Twitter.
