Hyundai Genesis AR550 Details:
ARK Performance is no stranger to the KDM scene and carmaker Hyundai. The company produces exhaust systems, suspension, engine parts, and even aero kits predominantly for the Hyundai Genesis. Already this year they managed to build not one, but two Formula D-spec cars. Now with SEMA just a few weeks away, ARK Performance released some teaser details for its upcoming project the Hyundai Genesis AR550 sedan. The tuning company has set its target on some tough German rivals such as Mercedes-Benz AMG and the BMW M line.
Using the 5.0-liter V8 Hyundai "Tau" engine, ARK Performance added 130 horsepower using a Rotrex supercharger and ARK free-flow exhaust. Nitto tires are used to improve traction and transfer the power to the road. A brand new ARK-developed suspension succeeded the OEM unit to reduce body roll and provide a sportier ride. Stopping power is handled by none other than a Brembo big brake kit.
The exterior of the AR550 gets an AR aero treatment with aggressive wide front and rear bumpers. It has a racecar touch with carbon fiber splitters and rear diffusers. ARK also upgraded the interior with custom diamond-stitched seats and door panels by Katzkin.
"The AR550 concept focuses on refined performance that integrates directly with Hyundai's 'Design to Empower; vision for the Genesis Sedan," said Lerry Liu, Marketing Director of Ark Performance. "This year we are focused on two core elements all under the new line of ARK Racing concepts for Hyundai. First we focused on the power, handling, and most importantly the sound of the Hyundai power plant. Second, we integrated our high performance racing technology to introduce a very unique and bold Hyundai vehicle."
