Introduced 25 years ago, the latest fourth generation Mazda MX-5 Miata was announced today in Japan. It is all new and slated to hit global markets in 2015. Known as the Mazda Roadster in Japan, the MX-5 Miata holds the Guinness World Record for the best-selling two-seater sports car. Affordability and its nimble chassis made it a hit worldwide with total production volume exceeding 940,000 units, as of July 2014, according to Mazda.

The all-new Mazda MX-5 Miata is said to be the most compact variant to date and weighs 220.5 lbs. (100 kilos) less than the previous generation. Shedding weight and reducing overall size will amount to heightened sports car feel.
