Mercedes-Benz and Brabus have teamed up once again to create upgrade kits for the GLA-Class lineup, complete with engine tuning for both the gasoline- and diesel-powered models. But for the GLA45 AMG, Brabus not only upgrades the engine, it adds enhanced aerodynamic components and tailor-made 21-inch Brabus Monoblock wheels.
The PowerXtra CGI B45 kit for the GLA 45 AMG raises the top-of-the-line model's power from the standard 355 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque to 400 hp and 369 lb.-ft., lettingenabling the all-wheel drive vehicle to go from 0-62 mph in an estimated 4.4 seconds up to a top speed of 168 mph when equipped with the V/max unit.
However, the GLA45 AMG isn't the only model in the GLA lineup to receive special attention. Brabus is offering a performance kit for the GLA 250 equipped with the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with either front- or all-wheel drive. The PowerXtra B25 performance upgrade kit will boost power from 211 hp to 245 hp, with torque going from 350 to 385 lb.-ft. The kit will even increase top speed to 155 mph and shave milliseconds off its 0-60 time.
Even the GLA 220 CDI, not sold in the U.S., has an upgrade kit tailored to meet its needs. The ECO PowerXtra D3 features a plug-and-play auxiliary control unit to pump out an additional 40 hp for a total of 210 hp, while torque increases to 302 lb.-ft. The new 0-62 time comes to just 8.0 seconds, and top speed jumps to 137 mph.
For all models in the GLA lineup, Brabus offers sport stainless-steel quad exhausts, a diffuser insert for the rear bumper, body styling components, LED underfloor lighting, a Brabus rear spoiler, alloy wheels, sport springs, and leather interior touches.
