While James Bond is slated to drive the bespoke Aston Martin DB10 in “Spectre”, the latest installment in the movie series, Jaguar Land Rover will also provide several models for the upcoming film including the Jaguar C-X75, Range Rover Sport SVR, and Land Rover Defender Big Foot.
If you recall, the Jaguar C-X75 is a plug-in hybrid concept with range-extending turbines that the automaker unveiled in 2010 in celebration of its 75th anniversary.
The Jaguar C-X75 and Aston Martin DB10 will star together in a chase sequence through the streets of Rome. Although not slated for production, the Jaguar C-X75 models used in the film were built in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering in Oxfordshire, England. Claimed to be the fastest SUV available, the Range Rover Sport SVR will be used alongside the bespoke Land Rover Defender Big Foot in scenes filmed in Austria. Built by the automaker’s Special Operations division, the Defender Big Foot model has been unfitted with 37-inch off-road tires, custom suspension, and upgraded body protection.
"This is an exciting partnership for Jaguar Land Rover and an opportunity to demonstrate the fantastic capabilities of the Special Operations team,'' said John Edwards, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations.
While Bond is known for his choice of Aston Martin vehicles, Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles have starred in previous films including the 2012 film ”Skyfall”, which featured a Defender 110 Double Cab pickup and a Jaguar XJ.
