If you're looking for a chance to drive the new, lighter 2016 Mazda MX-5 RWD roadster, this might be your shot. The car is coming to Forza Horizon 2 for the Xbox One via downloadable car pack, well in advance of its real-life arrival at dealers later this year.
The Mazda MX-5 Car Pack is free, and in addition to the 2016 MX-5 features one-off Mazda roadsters like the 2010 MX-5 Super20 SEMA concept car, 1990 MX-5 and 2005 Mazdaspeed MX-5. These join other Mazda already part of the Forza Horizon 2 universe, namely the 1994 Miata, 1997 RX-7, 2010 Mazdaspeed3, 2011 RX-8 R3, and the 2013 MX-5.
As a bonus, users will have the chance to win an actual 2016 MX-5 by competing in the new Time Trial Rivals Contest. To enter, you need to log into Xbox Live using your Xbox One console and navigate to any one of the following channels: Games, Music, Movies or Apps. From there, users may see an MX-5 ad and must click into the ad landing experience.
Once on the hub, players need to register to enter the contest by following the prompts on the contest page. You'll be required to play in the appropriate Rival Mode event (the "Mazda MX-5 Challenge") using the 2016 Mazda MX-5 from the car pack on the Sisteron Perimeter Sprint Track. The two players with the fastest times will be flown to Los Angeles in June to compete head-to-head in a winner-take-all race, with the victor receiving a 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata. The contest begins March 17 and ends April 30.
The Mazda MX-5 Car Pack will be available starting March 17. To download, after logging into Xbox Live on Xbox One, head to the Mazda landing page to find the car pack.
