BMW has revealed details of a new special-edition model. Limited to just 100 units, the 2016 BMW 435i ZHP Coupe Edition features performance and cosmetic upgrades including drivetrain, suspension, and aerodynamic bits as well as interior and exterior pieces.

The new 2016 BMW 435i ZHP Coupe Edition pays homage to the ZHP Performance Package that was available on the 2003-2006 E46 BMW 3 Series, which included the M-Tech II body kit, ZHP shifter and knob, upgraded suspension, and new camshafts. ZHP referred to the internal option package code.

Starting with the BMW M Performance Engine Kit, power has been bumped up to 335 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque for automatic-equipped models and 317 lb-ft for manual-equipped models. That’s an increase of 35 hp and 32/17 lb-ft. The kit includes revised engine tuning software and M Performance air intake system, and a recalibrated accelerator pedal in all drive modes. Cosmetic bits include an M Performance engine cover and rocker panel decals. Additionally, the M Performance exhaust reduces backpressure for a more aggressive note and burble during engine overrun. Said to be 8.8 pounds lighter, the stainless-steel exhaust features twin brushed finish tips. BMW claims the 2016 BMW 435i ZHP Coupe Edition is 0.2 seconds quicker from 0-60 mph and 0.5 seconds quicker from 50-75 mph than the standard 435i coupe.

Other performance bits include the BMW M Performance limited slip differential and the new for 2016 Track Handling Package, which includes 18-inch Orbit Gray V-Spoke wheels, M Sport Brakes (four-piston front and two-piston rear calipers), Adaptive M Suspension, and Variable Sport Steering.

The BMW M Performance Aerodynamics Package adds front and rear carbon fiber spoilers and M Performance black kidney grilles and matte black rear diffuser. Finally, the M Sport Package adds aluminum hexagon trim with a Black high-gloss accent, along with an M Sport steering wheel.

Color choices for the 2016 BMW 435i ZHP Coupe Edition are limited to Alpine White or Black Sapphire Metallic. The limited-edition coupe will be available to order in July with pricing announced closer to its on-sale date.
