Another supercar now claims to have lapping the Nürburgring below the elusive 7-minute mark. In a new YouTube video, Lamborghini shows its Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce completing the Nordschleife circuit in exactly 6:59:73 during a development test.

Lamborghini joins Porsche and McLaren in making such claims. A few years ago, the Porsche 918 clocked an incredible 6:57 around the track, and McLaren also released a video that alleged its P1 completed a lap in under 7 minutes. Unlike these two cars, however, the Lambo boasts a more powerful V-12 engine instead of V-8 engines paired with electric motors.

The Lamborghini Aventador SV, which debuted at the Geneva motor show earlier this year, is equipped with a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V-12 engine that delivers 740 hp and 509 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed automated manual transmission and a permanent all-wheel drive system. Lambo claims a 0-62 mph time of 2.8 seconds and a top speed of more than 217 mph. In the video, the SV gets up to about 200 mph.
