GT-R vs. GT R

Head 2 Head pits Nismo GT-R against AMG's sport coupe

On this episode of Head 2 Head presented by Tire Rack, Lieberman and Pobst take a look at two of the highest performing vehicles currently on sale. Nissan's R35 is their longest running supercar, and though power remains at 600hp for its Nismo version, the way that power is applied and the car's overall ability are undeniably superb. Add to that a stiffer chassis thanks to structural improvements and Nissan's "gradual improvement" mantra makes all the sense in the world.

In the red corner, the AMG GT R, a big step up from the standard GT S, carries a number of changes to make it a legitimate world-beater - changes that include more power, a wider track front and rear, a carbon fiber torque tube, upgraded clutch gears as well as new carbon fiber bits strewn about the sleek body. Add all of that to its 4-wheel steering and you've got the makings of a circuit and street monster.

All of that is impressive, but how will these two stack up against one another in the twisty canyons of SoCal along with a day at the track? Find out on the latest episode of Head 2 Head presented by Tire Rack at MTOD motortrendondemand.com right now!
