2018 Shutter Space Photography Contest Announced

Want your photo featured in Super Street? Or better yet win a trip to Hawaii? Here's how!

Aug 2, 2018

One of our favorite things Super Street has been able to be a part of over the last few years is the Shutter Space photography contest and car meet hosted by Toyo Tires. Photography is something that's a core passion of ours, and discovering new talent and giving them an opportunity to live and work their dream is what makes this whole magazine job worth it. is how I got into working at Super Street in the first place, so anytime we can shine a spotlight on up-and-coming shooters means everything to us.

Shutter Space was created as a way to challenge new photographers through a fun contest centered on automotive photography. With the help of Toyo, we've been able to discover guys like Viet "V" Nguyen (photographybyv) who's gone on to shoot several of our cover features over the last couple of years. 2017's winner, Tyler Lee (@pagani_ty), is also incredibly talented and he's moved on to a marketing gig at Pagani while still shooting epic photos in his spare time.

For 2018, Toyo is putting a whole different spin on Shutter Space. This year's grand prize winner will not only have their photo printed in Super Street, but will also score a grand prize trip to Hawaii. No joke! And not just that, the gallery event and free car meet we usually hold in Orange County, California, will this time take place on the streets of Honolulu. If you love shooting cars and you've ever wanted to enter a photography contest, this is it. This year's theme is "Night Shots" and all entries must be received by August 6, 2018. Better get shooting if you want to be discovered and want to hang out with us in paradise!
