2013 Hyundai Bisimoto 1,000 HP Genesis Coupe SEMA 2013

Custom Coupe gets twin-turbo

We knew early on that one of Hyundai's main attractions would be the 1,000 hp Genesis Coupe built by Bisimoto, and we were right. Today was the Coupe's big reveal and the booth was filled with media and fans itching to get a glimpse of this outrageous build. We were able to get a few words from the talented builder, Mr. Bisimoto, who was very friendly and upbeat.

We learned that the Coupe started with a naturally aspirated V6 engine, but Bisimoto added a twin-turbo kit, customized camshafts, steels rods, and 200cc injectors, making it possible for the Coupe to make well into the four digits in terms of power. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to hear engine roar, but we did get a close look at the craftsmanship that went into it, and Bisimoto assured us that it sounds fantastic when fired up.

When asked what his favorite part of the car was, Bisimoto replied with, "Engine development." He says he really enjoyed finding ways to get that much power out of the engine.

Bisimoto's goal for the car is to have it attend races around the country, and we look forward to hearing more about what this car achieves in the future.
