A new Competition Package for the 2016 BMW M3 sedan and 2016 M4 coupe and convertible is now available for the popular models. The new Competition Package from BMW M GmbH is said to offer increased performance as well as curb appeal.
With the new Competition Package, power for the 2016 BMW M3 and M4 models increases from 425 hp to 444 hp. BMW says the 0-60 mph times improve by 0.1 seconds for each body style with either transmission. When fitted with the seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M-DCT), the M3 sedan and M4 coupe reach 60 mph in a claimed 3.8 seconds, while the M4 convertible does it in 4.1 seconds.
Other performance changes include the Adaptive M Suspension with new springs, dampers, and anti-roll bars as well as revised driving modes including Comfort, Sport, and Sport+. Additionally, the Active M Differential and DSC Dynamic Stability Control have been reprogrammed to match the suspension tuning. The M3 and M4 also gain new staggered lightweight multi-spoke 20-inch M alloy wheels that appear similar in design to those of the M4 GTS.
The Competition Package also adds the M Sports exhaust system with black chrome tailpipes, and Shadow Line exterior trim with high-gloss Black finish on the kidney grilles the side gills, and rear badging. Inside, the Competition Package adds special lightweight M sport seats to the BMW M3 sedan and BMW M4 Coupe as well as seatbelts with woven-in BMW M stripes.
The Competition Package is priced at $5,500 on the M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe and $5,000 on the M4 Convertible.
