1300HP fire-breathing R8, robot vs. sword master, and more for the week of June 12

Jun 12, 2015

Alpha Twin Turbo Audi R8 - 1300+HP - AMS Performance
AMS is working on this bad boy for top-level roll race events, but if that doesn’t work out we’re sure the Audi could find a good life as a literal fire-breathing monster.

Massive GT4 European Series Crash at Red Bull Ring
We’re not sure what’s more bonkers about this clip – that the Sin R1 piloted by Rosen Daskalov and Aston Martin Vantage driven by Jörg Viebahn disintegrated the way they did after they collided at high speed heading to the stripe (for fourth place!), or that both hot shoes came away from the scary altercation alive and intact.

Kawasaki H2R vs. 1350hp Nissan GT-R - 1/2 Mile Airstrip Race 3
300hp, supercharged hyper-bike – supposedly the world’s fastest – challenges over-the-top R35 built by SP Engineering. It doesn’t end the way you might think it would – read more about it here.

Yaskawa Bushido Project / Industrial Robot Vs. Sword Master
Not a car edit, but unusually hypnotic – Yaskawa makes industrial robotic automation and wondered what it would be like to program one of its Motoman machines to mimic – and then challenge – Iaijutsu Master Isao Machii. The end result is pretty cool.
