Audi has introduced a new version of its flagship sedan: the 2016 Audi A8 L 4.0T Sport. The new model boasts 450 hp from its twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine. That's 15 hp more than the previous A8 L 4.0T model.
The Audi S8 remains the flagship's top model with a 512-hp version of the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine.
A "muscular" front fascia and larger air intakes give the new A8 L 4.0T Sport "a more commanding presence on the road," Audi says. In addition to a lower rear bumper, the Sport model receives more aggressive rocker panels for a wider stance. A set of 20-inch five-double-spoke wheels are standard, while two more 20-inch wheel styles are available as well as a set of 21-inch five-arm wheels with summer tires.
Inside, the A8 L 4.0T Sport features the Executive and Luxury packages as standard and includes 22-way Comfort front seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The seats are finished in Vacona leather and a diamond pattern stitching, while the headliner is finished in Alcantara. Other luxury touches include a panoramic sunroof and acoustic glazing on the windows.
On the technology front, the Audi A8 L 4.0T Sport features Audi head-up display with navigation information as well as Audi side assist with pre sense rear to aid in changing lanes. Audi's adaptive cruise control with stop & go is also available.
The 2016 Audi A8 L 4.0T Sport starts at $91,425 for the U.S. market.
