We’re just days out from the 2016 edition of the Geneva International Motor Show, March 3 to 13, and BMW tuners AC Schnitzer (ACS) has a small slate of public unveilings they’re set to make at the event. Among them is their so-called X6 “Falcon,” a reimagining of the mid-size luxury crossover with mods of both the performance and cosmetic variety.
Exterior-wise, the X6 is adorned in a 10-piece Falcon widebody kit that flares out the front fenders 50mm and the rears 90mm. Further additions include an ACS front skirt, hood vents (available with optional chrome design elements), carbon mirror cover (not available for the X6 M), rear wing, rear diffuser, carbon rear skirt insert (for the X6 M), and rear skirt film.
At each corner are AC Schnitzer lowering springs that drop the front of the vehicle 20 to 30 mm and the rear 15 to 20 mm. Stance is completed with a set of one-piece AC1 weight-optimized cast alloy wheels, which are available in BiColor or matte anthracite in 22 inch for the X6. ACS also offers three-piece AC1 forged racing rims, which come in black high gloss or BiColor hand-polished and are available in 22 and 23 inch with an offset of up to -20, as well as Type VIII forged racing alloys in BiColor (22 inch), Type VIII rims in BiColor black or silver (20 inch), Type V forged alloys in BiColor or anthracite (22 inch), and Type IV wheels in BiColor black (20 inch).
Around back, ACS has a wide variety exhausts and tips for both petrol and diesel X6, M and non-M. Silencer options consist of "Racing," "Sport," and "Sport Black" tailpipes, while the sound module set for diesel vehicles includes a twin silencer with various tailpipes and a sound module which, via remote control, offers seven different exhaust notes to allow diesel variants of the X6 to deliver a characteristic sound even at low revs. For the X6 M, there are other variants of the AC Schnitzer silencer with flap control and two "Carbon Evo", "Sport", "Sport Black" and "Carbon Evo" tailpipes available.
With AC Schnitzer tuning, the X6 in all its forms comes alive. Power jumps from 575 horsepower to 650 for the X6 M and 306hp to 360 for the X6 35i; on the diesel end, the 30d goes from 258hp to 309, the 40d 313hp to 360, and the M50d 376hp to 425. New AC Schnitzer engine styling is also available for all models except the X6 M.
Finally, the interior of the X6 Falcon impresses with an aluminum pedal set and footrest, AC Schnitzer key holder, and velour foot mats.
