Targa Trophy Road Rally Partners With European Car

May 28, 2010

Los Angeles, Calif. – May 27, 2010 – Targa Trophy, North America’s premier automotive lifestyle rally event, has announced a partnership with European Car magazine. The partnership will continue through the three events of the season beginning with the Hollywood to San Diego event on June 25-26, 2010.

The partnership will consist of in-depth coverage online and print by European Car of the Targa Trophy Triple Crown Series. European Car will be participating in the rally with a vehicle yet to be determined and will be providing behind the scenes editorial from their perspective.

"We are really excited to work extensively with European Car during the 2010 Targa Trophy Triple Crown Series,” said Jason Overell, founder of Targa Trophy. “They have supported the event series since the beginning and we look forward to giving the European Car readers an inside look at what makes Targa Trophy events so unique."

For the fourth consecutive year, the Targa Trophy road rally will hold a series of events, beginning with Hollywood to San Diego on June 25 and 26. San Francisco and Silicon Valley will host the second event on August 27 and 28, with Scottsdale, Arizona ending the series on October 22 and 23, 2010.

ABOUT TARGA TROPHY TRIPLE CROWN ROAD RALLY SERIES 2010

The fourth annual Targa Trophy Triple Crown Championship road rally event series is back for a new year, this time partnered with select venues of the contemporary lifestyle brand W Hotels, to create the ultimate road rally and lifestyle event in North America. This year's series captures the essence of combining contemporary automotive and luxury lifestyle genres that haven’t been previously explored by other automotive events. For the first time, Targa Trophy stretches to three key markets with five W Hotel properties acting as the official host venues, from W Hollywood to W San Diego June 25 & 26, W San Francisco to W Silicone Valley August 27 & 28, and ending in W Scottsdale, Arizona October 22 & 23. It’s a scene of privately owned specialty sports cars and their owners driving on strategically mapped routes through some of America’s finest cities and back roads. Pair this with top tier entertainment and authentic automotive lifestyle scenarios through live event experiences including pre- and after-parties, private receptions, and expo showcases to create the core elements of a Targa Trophy event. It integrates not just car culture, but fashion, film and music, all integral elements for both W Hotels and Targa Trophy. Road rally entrants are subject to eligibility requirements, which allow for up to 100 vehicles to compete in each rally event.
