British Formula 3 Championship
Nasr secures title hat-trick for Volkswagen

The race weekend of the British Formula 3 Championship at Rockingham was marked by Brazil. Thanks to third place at the third round Felipe Nasr from Team Carlin triumphs in the excellent junior formula series. Nasr is already the twelfth Brazilian to win the title in the British Formula 3 Championship. He follows in the footsteps of subsequent Formula 1 stars like Ayrton Senna, Emerson Fittipaldi or Nelson Piquet. As early as at the first race Nasr's compatriot Pietro Fantin clinched his debut victory. The Hitech Racing driver relegated the two Carlin drivers Rupert Svendsen-Cook and Jack Harvey to second and third place. At the second race Felipe Nasr managed the leap onto the podium as the runner-up. At the third race the new champion only had to admit defeat to his Carlin team-mates Kevin Magnussen and Pietro Fantin. Besides Nasr in 2011, Daniel Ricciardo (2009) and Jean-Eric Vergne (2010) were unbeatable thanks to Volkswagen Power in previous years.

Wehrlein catches a whiff of the title win

Fortune for the front runner: At the 16th race of the Formel ADAC at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz Pascal Wehrlein, thanks to a slip by the leading duo Mario Farnbacher and Artem Markelov, celebrated his eighth victory of the season. The two front runners had to sit a drive-through penalty, which cleared the track for Wehrlein. Second and third place were taken by Maximilian Buhk and Kean Kristensen. At the second round the Motopark team from Oschersleben was the measure of all things. The Dane Kristensen celebrated his third triumph this season. His team-mates Mario Farnbacher and Artem Markelov followed in second and third place. Due to insufficient weight Farnbacher was temporarily taken out of the classification after scrutineering. Wehrlein again benefited and moved up to third place. His biggest rival, the Briton Emil Bernstorff, finished all three rounds empty-handed.
