Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup
Mateusz Lisowski crowns himself champion at Oschersleben
A motorsport hat-trick on Saturday, from P8 to third place on Sunday and the title in his pocket: A racer cannot expect more of a home race. For the Pole Mateusz Lisowski all of this came true at rounds eight and nine of the Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup season at Oschersleben. In the first of the two rounds he drove to victory from the pole position with the fastest race lap and on Saturday he pushed forwards from the rear of Saturday’s field of the top eight who started from a reversed grid to the second race. After that, it was clear that Lisowski at the final round of the eco-conscious one-make cup cannot even be bumped any more by Ola Nilsson, the runner-up in the standings. The winner of the captivating wet Sunday race was the Indian Aditya Patel in front of Moritz Oestreich, who thus won the Junior classification for rookies early.

On Sunday race winner Stanaway enjoyed another bubbly shower and celebrated his title with his third-placed brand colleague Alon Day on the podium. In a total of 16 races Stanaway “powered by Volkswagen” started from pole nine times, scored eleven victories and three second places.
