Jaguar Land Rover employees at the company's Halewood Operations celebrated an important milestone following the production of the 300,000th Land Rover Freelander 2, known as LR2 in the US market.
Production of the LR2 at Halewood commenced in October 2006 and earlier this week the plant's 300,000th model was driven off the line.
The vehicle was a 2.2-liter diesel in Barolo Black destined for a customer in Brazil - one of its fastest growing markets. Land Rover is the leading SUV brand in the country with a 40% market share. Freelander was also Land Rover's biggest selling model last year, retailing around 52000 units globally.
