What do you do when the Mercedes SLS AMG isn’t special enough for you? How do you cope with the embarrassing situation when the SLS doesn’t cut it any more? Well fortunately, M-B has anticipated this problem and introduced the new 2013 SLS AMG GT.

The car boasts enhanced dynamics and better on-track performance, thanks in part to an output of 583hp, recalibrated DCT seven-speed transmission and redeveloped AMG Adaptive Suspension.

The SLS AMG GT will be available both as a Coupé and Roadster complete with a new, optional AMG designo STYLE interior package.

The car is set to go on sale mid-November 2012, replacing previous SLS AMG versions. The new car will be distinguished by darker light lenses front and rear, a unique wheel color and red brake calipers.

Furthermore, the cross fins and star recess in the front grille get a high-gloss black finish, as do the mirrors plus the fins on the hood and front fenders. The AMG logo on the trunk lid also features "GT" lettering.

with maximum power of the AMG 6.3-liter V8 increased to 583hp at 6800rpm and maximum torque maintained at 479 lb-ft at 4750rpm, 0-60 mph acceleration is achieved in 3.6sec (estimated) with a top speed of 197mph (limited).

When changing gears manually via the shift paddles, the change are markedly quicker than before. The changes were possible thanks to a modified engine mapping profile that changes the torque delivered in manual mode, allowing the shift procedure to be even quicker.

The new AMG Adaptive Performance Suspension features stiffer and springs and damper tuning for a more dynamic feel.

"Sport" mode is tuned as the optimum setting for undulating road surfaces found on rural roads or the legendary North Loop of the Nürburgring.
"Sport plus" provides higher/firmer damping forces and features specific control algorithms adjusted for sporty driving on smoother roads, such as a race circuit like Hockenheim.

As standard, the GT comes with 265/35 R19 front tires and 295/30 R20 rears, fitted to weight-optimized AMG forged wheels with a matte black inlay and machine-polished wheel face. Three optional AMG wheel are also available.

The interior highlights feature sports seats in designo leather with Alcantara center sections, accented by an embossed AMG crest on the head restraint. Alcantara is also found on the door panels.

This is contrasted by red seatbelts, red-trimmed floormats and red contrast stitching on the seats, center console, dashboard and door panels.

The steering wheel also has Alcantara side grips finished, a flat bottom section and a new red marker at the 12 o'clock position.

The instrument cluster has black dials and a black accent surrounding the LED shift lights.
