Former Head of Ferrari and Famed Design Firm Passes Away at Home in Turin, Italy.

Since 1930 the famed design and coachbuild studio, Pininfarina has sculpted some of the most iconic vehicles of all time. Today we received sad news that Sergio Pininfarina passed away last night on July 2nd, 2012.

He has permanently left his fingerprint deep within the DNA of Ferrari supercars past and present. .
"An exceptional person," Luca di Montezemolo said, "who connected his name indissolubly with our history and our success. All GT serial models from Maranello, since the 1952 Ferrari 212 Inter Cabriolet, have been designed by Pininfarina in Turin, where Sergio became President in 1966 following his father Battista.

He is survived by his wife and two children. God Speed Signore Pininfarina.
