There’s been increasing interest in the performance modifications and concept cars from Volvo’s motorsport partner, Polestar. So a decision has been taken by Volvo North America to capitalize on this and introduce a very limited edition of its C30 hot hatch.

With only 250 models available, this should sell like hot cakes to Volvo enthusiasts looking to capitalize on this collector car that will retail for $32445 including $895 destination charge when it goes on sale in October.

Finished in Rebel Blue (a Volvo version of Polestar’s racing blue), it resembles the 450hp AWD C30 concept built by Polestar in 2010. It also features the company’s software that boosts the stock 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbo engine by 23 horsepower and 37 lb-ft of torque, taking it to 250hp and 273 lb-ft with increased boost, optimized injection and ignition.

These Polestar upgrades offer more power without affecting fuel consumption, so the EPA fuel economy estimates are identical to the stock C30 T5 R-Design with 21mpg city and 29mpg highway for the six-speed manual, 21/30mpg with the optional five-speed Geartronic automatic.

Visually, the C30 Polestar Limited Edition has 17” Styx alloy wheels in a matte black. It also gets the standard R-Design body kit that’s been color-matched in Rebel blue.

Inside, the car has the R-Design watch-dial instrument cluster, unique aluminum inlays, R-Design sport steering wheel and sport pedals plus a special numbered plate to commemorate the edition. The leather seating comes in a choice of Off-Black or two-tone Off-Black and Calcite in addition to a high level of standard equipment.

On the exterior, you will find Polestar badges on the rear and sides while the R-Design chassis has the usual 30% stiffer springs and monotube dampers, stiffer bushings and a quicker steering rack.

Contact your local Volvo dealer to enquire about this Limited Edition model before they get snapped up.
