Following our news stories at www.europeancarweb.com about the arrival of the new Range Rover and discussion about the not-for-US hybrid version, Land Rover has announced pricing for the vehicle.

It will arrive in US showrooms this winter with a starting price of $83500 including destination. However, it excludes tax, title, license and dealer fees.

$84,950 Base Model (MSRP) 17/23 MPG Fuel Economy

The range will top out at $130950 for the Autobiography model that brings the highest level of specification and interior equipment.

The 2013 Range Rover is the world’s first SUV with an all-aluminum structure that is both lighter and stronger than before, with a weight saving of about 700 lb.

US customers will be able to choose the V8 or V8 supercharged models, while European customers also get a V6 and V8 diesel plus the future hybrid model.

As we mentioned in our previous story, the Range Rover Hybrid is the world’s first all-terrain hybrid, capable of immersion in water to exploit the new car’s 35” wading depth. Plus it’s the world’s first diesel hybrid, combining the V6 turbo-diesel with an electric motor housed in the eight-speed ZF transmission.

The current TDV6 doesn’t meet 50-state US emissions standards so the hybrid won’t be sold here but it’s expected that the second generation hybrid will comply and will be sold in the US.
