McLaren is looking to invade the Paris Motor Show with its latest Hypercar, the P1– the F1 successor. No specs have been released on the car just yet but we can certainly see plenty of ducting toward the extremely wide rear end. Race inspired rear diffusers and a front integrated splitter allow for some extreme down force capabilities, clear indicators of a menacing driving experience.
‘It is the true test of a supercar’s all round ability and a much more important technical statement. Our goal is to make the McLaren P1 the most exciting, most capable, most technologically advanced and most dynamically accomplished supercar ever made.’, said McLaren Automotive Managing Director Antony Sheriff. When the McLaren P1 goes into production later next year, it will sit above the 12C and 12C Spider, in terms of both price and performance.
It’s nice to see that companies like McLaren still enjoy creating provocative vehicles. The 12C has us worried for a bit. With the P1, McLaren clearly has a goal of replacing the supercars in children’s dreams ¬– and ours as well to be honest.
More information will be released following the McLaren Automotive press conference scheduled for 8:45 AM (PST), on Thursday 27 September 2012. You can follow our Instagram feed @europeancarmag or on our facebook account (fb.com/europeancarmag) for all our Pairs Motor Show Coverage.
