The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo concept car is explained by Porsche as “an evolutionary, sport body concept,” but what they mean is, it’s as awesome as an everyday Porsche should be with way, way more practicality. It might even be a better-looking fit to the Panamera body than the standard sedan. Screw that, it is.
Yes, it has hybrid technology, but honestly, it’s to be expected with new cars and we’re over letting it sour our opinions, not to mention, Porsche does hybrid very, very well.
The Panamera Sport Turismo is a big step, kind of, for Porsche. It seems like they are finally following through with what they intended the original Panamera to be but were too nervous to truly introduce. However, with the success of other awesome luxury, hatch-wearing cars like the A7, CLS63 Shooting Brake, E63 Wagon and even the CTS-V Wagon, Porsche is ready to join the crew and set the standard. Of all those cars, the Panamera is a clear leader, if nothing else it’s tied at the top with a few.
Back to that hybrid stuff; The Sport Turismo is badged with “e-hybrid” which refers to the drivetrain here. What does it add up to, though? A combined output of 416hp and roughly 60mpg. In any car, that’s pretty stellar, but a Porsche, and one that looks this good? Hell yes. Oh, it’ll get to 60 in under 6 sec, too. And if your commute is less than 20 miles, you can get there on electric power alone, as long as your hours are longer than the 2 ½ it takes to recharge.
