Jaguar will debut a new model of the already impressive R lineup at the International New York Auto Show; the 2014 XJR Sedan. R models already include the supercharged XFR, the lightweight XKR, and the sporty XKR-S. Joining the lineup will be the XJR Sedan which has 550 hp and 502 foot-pounds of torque along with other modifications and a luxurious interior.

The new XJR will not only include luxury features but also steering, braking and suspension enhancements that make for high levels of power and driver enjoyment. Design elements of not only exterior but also interior will grab the attention of anyone looking for luxury mixed with performance. This cat will be sure to please on and off track, as it has been tested at the company's Nurburgring Test Center.

An all-aluminum body construction encompasses an all-aluminum V8 engine. Technologies such as SGDI (spray-guided direct injection) and DIVCT (dual independent variable cam timing) help to deliver efficiency while the twin vortex supercharger delivers performance. The eight-speed automatic transmission improves efficiency by detecting your driving style (acceleration, braking, cornering etc) and will conform accordingly.

When cornering, the XJR will sense a curve and holds the correct gear, and if many maneuvers are to be performed, the car will remain in a lower gear until acceleration is needed. Intelligent stop/start comes standard in this model, which reduces idling, but starting the engine can be achieved with the release of the brake pedal.

Handling is improved with the use of tuned dampers, along with Jaguar Adaptive Dynamics, which controls body roll and movement. The dampers adjust up to 500 times a second monitoring conditions. Trac DSC setting of the Dynamic Stability Control system offers more driver enjoyment in the exploration of the vehicles performance range. The XJR comes with lightweight forged 20-inch alloy wheels, which offer optimal grip.

Jaguar offers many exterior colors including: Polaris White, Ebony, Ultimate Black, Carnelian Red, British Racing Green and more. While the interior also offers an array of leather combinations including Jet Black leather with several variations of inserts including Red Zone and London Tan.

Jaguar President Andy Gross comments on the new model: "the growing R performance lineup offers our customers the truly elevated dynamics and design, but in a Jaguar luxury package. The Jaguar XJR is a British performance machine that delivers emotionally and dynamically on the road and the track."

XJR Standard wheelbase $116,000
XJR Long Wheelbase $119,000
