Volkswagen has just announced the addition the 2013 Volkswagen Passat Wolfsburg Edition to its Passat lineup. The Wolfsburg model will start at a base price of $24,290 including destination and is set to go on sale in later in the spring.
The Wolfsburg Passat offers additional features that land it roughly in the middle ground between the base Passat S and mid-range SE, and is powered by VW's 2.5-liter I-5 making 170 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic.
Specific to the model are 16-inch alloy wheels, perforated V-Tex leatherette seating, power front seats, satellite radio, and media device capability including iPod cable. Bluetooth technology, multi-function steering wheel, auto headlights, power mirrors, and driver seat lumbar support also come standard.
With sales of the Passat sagging a bit, the addition of the Wolfsburg can only be good news for VW dealers looking to offer a nicely equipped car at a relatively inexpensive price, which has been a hallmark of past Wolfsburg models.
