2014 BMW M5 & M6 COMPETITION PACKAGE

May 21, 2013

The BMW Competition Package is always coveted by BMW enthusiasts because it usually includes mechanical upgrades along with cosmetic improvements. And this time they've announced the Package for the new 2014 BMW M6 as well as all the variants of the M6.

The upgrades were developed on the legendary N├╝rburgring Nordschleife and the 560hp twin-turbo V8 engines will recived a 15hp power increase to 575hp. This will be accompanied by new spring and damper calibration, plus stiffer sway bars. The M5 Competition Package will now be 10mm lower and the bushings have been stiffened.

On all models (except M6 Convertible), 0.1sec were shaved from the 0-62mph sprint, and 0.2sec from the 0-124mph sprint.

The Active M Differential and Servotronic variable assist steering have also been retuned to suit the nature of the beast.

The M chassis control system has been adapted to the Competition Package, with the M Dynamic Mode (MDM) of the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system is re-mapped to allow higher intervention thresholds.

The Competition Package additionally includes unique 20" M wheels along with a sport exhaust system featuring Black Chrome tailpipes to help identify the cars.
