2014 Audi R8 Pricing, Performance Details Announced

Iron Man Star Gets New V10 Plus Model, S Tronic Transmission

The refreshed 2014 Audi R8 lineup officially goes on sale this week, and Audi has just released official pricing and performance details for its top-line coupe and convertible. And if you haven't heard by now, the R8 is also starring again with Iron Man in the latest "Iron Man 3," which is set to hit theaters on May 3.

Audi R8 V8

The base V8 doesn't have the eye-popping horsepower of the V10 models, but it's no slouch, with 430 hp and 317 foot-pounds of torque. When fitted with Audi's new for the R8 7-speed S tronic transmission (the 6-speed gated manual is still available), it moves from 0-60 in 4.2-seconds with a top speed of 186 mph. On both the V8 and V10 models, waved brakes are used, which according to Audi reduces weight and improves cooling.
Pricing on the V8 includes both coupe and spyder and is as follows: $114,900 (manual) and $124,000 (S tronic) for the coupe, and $128,400 (manual) and $137,500 (S tronic) for the spyder.

Audi R8 V10

The V10 variant produces 525 hp and 391 foot-pounds of torque with a top speed of 195 mph. With the S tronic transmission the V10 blasts from 0-60 in 3.4-seconds.
Pricing on the V10 includes both coupe and spyder with prices as follows: $151,200 (manual) and $160,300 (S tronic) for the coupe, and $164,700 (manual) and $173,800 (S tronic) for the spyder.

Audi R8 V10 Plus

The R8 V10 Plus is the new, range-topping addition to the lineup, and power has been boosted to 550 hp and 398 foot-pounds of torque. Its 0-60 time with the new 7 speed S tronic transmission is improved by 0.3 seconds over the manual model, and is a tick faster than the V10 at 3.3-seconds, with a top speed of 196 mph.
The weight of the R8 is also reduced by 130-pounds due to the use of ceramic brakes, carbon fiber side blades, front splitter, rear diffuser, and spoiler, a smaller fuel tank, manual Alcantara seats and reduced noise insulation in the engine bay (why would we want more insulation?).
Pricing for the V10 plus, which is is only available in a coupe version, for both manual and S tronic transmissions is $170,545 (manual) and $179,645 (S tronic)
