Ken Block best-ever finish on WRC Mexico

Block Sets Personal Best

The Hoonigan race team of Ken Block and Alex Gelsomino had much to celebrate after the recent WRC Mexico, where the pair finished 7th overall. This was a personal best for Block in only his 20th race in the World Rally Championship.

Block, ecstatic about the results, commented: "I'm stoked with how this event turned out for me. I was a nervous coming into it since I hadn't been in the WRC car since Finland last year. There were some new, tighter and more technical stages added this year and while my normal driving style suits fast, flowing roads a bit better, I really enjoyed the new stages. Plus, as always, the fans down here in Mexico were absolutely some of the best out there. They're passionate and enthusiastic, which really helps make it an amazing event."

Block was able to run in the top ten for the full event and looked likely to take sixth place at one point, until Chris Atkison took the position for himself. After the result, team manager Derek Duncey commented: "I'm massively impressed with Ken's performance this weekend. The pace he kept in this event surprised everyone, myself included."

Block will next appear in the four upcoming Global X Games, while Mexico was his only WRC outing scheduled for 2013.
