BMW X4 Concept to arrive 2014

Differentiating from its bigger bulkier siblings

A new member of the BMW X Sport Activity Vehicle line will be joining the family in 2014. The X4 Concept differentiates itself from its big brothers by featuring a sporty coupe look. According to BMW, the X4 is a smaller version of the bulky and bigger X5 and X6, while it is also the coupe version of the current X3 four-door.

Interior Styling:

All we have to go one this early in the game is that the X4 Concept offers a higher seating position and 'generous' interior space, for front seat passengers.

Exterior Styling:

Starting from the ground up are 21" wheels accented by black plastic fender flares, which are accentuated by flared wheel wells. The front of the X4 features an M-style spoiler (with sculpted bars and additional air apertures for engine cooling), which leads to the classic kidney grille utilizing hollowed-out gloss black bars while the lower third of the grille is finished in a matt look. Finishing off the appearance at the front are two LED headlights on either side of the grille.

Since this essentially is a coupe version of the X3, having a coupe-like roofline only makes sense. This creates a drastic sweeping like appearance, underscoring the long hood and helping the windows to extend all the way to the rear of the car. The longer wheelbase only adds to the sporty nature of the X4 Concept.

The side profile of the X4 features a new version of the classic BMW line, which is intensified by deepening surface volume and contour definition. These new lines not only add to side view of the car, but also extend toward the rear completing the cars design.

Performance Specs:

Although we don't know for certain what the X4 will be equipped with, there is the certainty that it will be one of these two engine configurations: 2.0 liter turbo, 240 hp i4 OR a 3.0 liter turbo, 300 hp, i6 motor matted with an eight-speed transmission and the xDrive all-wheel drive system.
The X4 will be available in 2014.

Less is more. Keep it simple. Go for an OEM look. Ice Sorsongsermkul isn't hearing any of that. In fact, he's gone completely the opposite direction with his RX-7, with a spec list that reads like a "who's who" of the tuning industry.
