SCOTT SPEED WINS GLOBAL RALLYCROSS AT X GAMES BRAZIL

X Games just left Foz Do Iguacu, Braszil and it was an enormous spectacle, as expected. Of course, the Global Rallycross Championship was no walk in the park, either. It seems every event is home to a mishap, massive crash, lucky pass or dirty move. Unfortunately, that's just the name of the game in rallycross. Often times it's not the best car or the best driver, but just how the race pans out.

At last weeks X Games, GRC rookie Scott Speed managed to pilot his#77 OlsbergsMSE Ford Fiesta Star Car to victory. Qualifying second, winning his elimination heat and, though down to the wire, he showed perseverance through the rough Final and managed to snake to first position by passing on his joker lap in the last corner. Yes, this is a guy we should keep an eye on through the season.

This marks Speed's first GRC win, Fiesta's first win of the season and, most impressive of all, a one, two, three finish for Ford, as Heikkinen and Patrik Sandell followed behind.

The top three managed to avoid catastrophe in the first turn of the final, where the mayhem caused Pastrana, Foust, Block and Rice to sustain unrecoverable car damage, knocking them out of the race completely.
