Lamborghini 50th Anniversary Grand Tour

350 Raging Bulls Stomp through Italy as Part of Celebration with Pirelli

Lamborghini is celebrating its 50th anniversary and is celebrating with its longtime tire supplier Pirelli as part of the Lamborghini 50th Anniversary Grand Tour. Billed by Lamborghini as the largest gathering of Raging Bulls ever, the 350-car caravan of Lamborghinis of all shapes and sizes from 29 countries is already on its journey.

After a kickoff press conference at the Pirelli Foundation headquarters in Milan, the caravan that stretches more than 2-miles long featuring 190,000 horsepower has reached Forte dei Marmi. The cars are then traveling to Rome and the tour ends in Bologna at Lamborghini's home turf in Sant'Agata with a gala dinner.

The Grand Tour is a way to also highlight Lamborghini's long and storied collaboration with Pirelli, who has been with them all 50 years, staring with the first Lamborghini constructor's car, 350 GTV, in 1963 (launched as a prototype at the Turin Motor Show the same year). Simply supplying the rubber wasn't Pirelli's only partnership with Lamborghini. Pirelli also used quite a few of the Italian super cars in their advertising. The centerpiece of Pirelli's 1970's advertising, Lambo's famed Miura made quite a few appearances and even became part of the slogan "The Miura chose Pirelli Cinturato."

Other famous Lamborghini models Pirelli shod over the years include: 350 GT and 400 GT, the Countach 'Anniversary' edition, LM002 (4x4 model), Murcielago, Gallardo, and Diablo.

With collaborations all the way to today, Pirelli features one of its most advanced tires on the new Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster, which is shod with a bespoke P Zero tire. And to celebrate the 50th anniversary, Pirelli has produced specially-developed tires with the red stripe inspired by the P Zero Formula 1 tires on the Lamborghini Veneno.

The Grand Tour is a perfect way for Lamborghini to help celebrate with the owners who made the brand what it is today along with Pirelli, the tire supplier that helped keep its cars glued to the road. We wish were there, it must be quite a spectacle.
