The last Mini to leave the Longbridge factory will be auctioned at the Silverstone Classic Sale in the UK on July 27.
The car, a Mini Clubman, had sat in tunnels under the factory for 30 years, making it the last Mini to leave the famous site.
The car was originally used to travel around the huge plant and was dumped by workers in the late 1970s after suffering damage, thought to be the result of a storage container falling on it!
When photos of the 'lost' Mini emerged, it was found by a former factory worker who got permission to remove it in 2012 shortly before the tunnels were filled in Now the 'The Longbridge Tunnel Mini' is being offered without reserve by Silverstone Auctions at its sale on Saturday July 27 at Silverstone circuit.
Anyone interested in owning a slice of British automotive history should remember that having been abandoned for decades, the Mini Clubman 1275 GT needs a great deal of work.
