Rally America, Round 3

Hoonigan Racing team served some bad luck

The third round of Rally America, the Oregon Trail Rally, brought more problems than successes for the Hoonigan Racing team of Ken Block and Alex Gelsomino.

Friday night was not only the start of the weekend, but also the start to the team's poor luck. The Ford Fiesta HFHV lost the front passenger-side wheel, but the duo replaced it and pushed through to finish fourth on the day.

Saturday started better, with a victory for Block in the opening stage, but it didn't end as well. The next stage brought a rear driveshaft failure, which was replaced but lost a lot of time. After the fix, there were two punctures on the next stage, which should have been the last of their bad luck, but a large rock caused further damage.

Although Sunday went better, they again suffered a puncture, but won all of the day's stages to finish second overall.

The next event for the team will be the Global X Games in Barcelona on May 19th.
