Every year at the annual GTI Festival at Lake Wörthersee in Austria, VW invites a group of its apprentices to build a car for the international tuner event. This year, they were given the new GTI Cabrio, which has received an Austrian theme as well as a 330hp boost for its 2.0T engine.
Thirteen apprentices built the car in red and white - the national colors of the Austria. The team included technicians, interior fitters, model makers and painters. They collaborated for a year, starting from sketches to its world debut at the Wörthersee show.
The Cabrio was finished in Oryx White pearl effect paint, with Flash Red stripes on the hood and sides. Inside, the Recaros were trimmed to match, with 'Austria' embroidering into the headrest. There are also red accents inside the car, which also includes a sound system with 11 speakers with 2250 watts.
