In a move that perhaps only the Germans could pull off, Audi has announced its new Motorsport song for the 2009 racing season.

"Is there a dream left" - is the name of the new song which Leslie Mandoki and his Red Rock Production company have produced in time for the start to the new DTM German touring Car season this weekend at the Hockenheimring.

The song will accompany the DTM Champions, Timo Scheider, Mattias Ekstrm and their teammates, during the title fight in the popular international racing series. We're told it will also support the Audi drivers at the 24-hour race on the Nrburgring and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

As one of Germany's most successful, internationally active music producers, Leslie Mandoki has acquired a fine reputation over the past decades. All of his projects with international stars such as Phil Collins, Lionel Richie and Joshua Kadison as well as national acts like No Angels reflect his passion for music.

Mandoki was contracted by Audi as the musical director for the market launch of the Audi Q7. This project also put him in contact with the DTM scene and gave birth to the idea of producing a song dedicated to Audi's racers "The song is a hymn of praise for the successful Audi drivers and motorsport," explained Mandoki, who is a big fan of the DTM, motorsport and the Audi brand.

Bobby Kimball and Chris Thompson sing the song. Kimball became famous as the vocalist of the band "Toto" and has since been successful as a soloist as well. Six Grammys and many hits like "Africa", "Rosanna" and "Hold the line" were shaped by his voice. Chris Thompson became popular as the vocalist of "Manfred Mann's Earthband" - particularly with songs like "Davy's on the road again" and "Blinded by the light".

With these two artists involved, you can perhaps imagine the type of soft rock extravagamza that is "Is there a dream left".

You'll be delighted to know "Is there a dream left" is available for downloading at free of charge and can also be used as a ring tone for cell phones. So don't delay!

Created exclusively for Japan, the model gets no powertrain upgrades but looks fantastic enough that we don’t really care.
