2010 Volkswagen Scirocco Gets New Options - Web Exclusive

Dec 21, 2009

Although there are still no signs of the VW Scirocco coming stateside, Europeans will enjoy a new engine and styling package for 2010. A more affordable Scirocco is hitting the roads with a 1.4 liter TSI engine. The 120hp, 147 lb-ft engine model will be priced at £18,860 RRP ($30,306 USD)

Still front-wheel drive, the Scirocco houses a six-speed manual that can accelerate the front wheels zero to sixty in just under ten seconds. Top speed is limited to 124mph.

While the power isn’t as impressive, the small capacity engine returns 44.1mpg and reduces CO2 emissions.

As far as the styling is concerned, a new package will be available on the Scirocco GT models. The new ‘Lugano Black’ package comprises 10-spoke 19” wheels finished in gloss black with additional Piano Black decorative inserts throughout the cabin.
