SUBARU'S COSWORTH IMPREZA STI CS400 ANNOUNCED

Taking a leaf out of Ford Europe's playbook, Subaru has announced the result of its automotive collaboration with Cosworth will be in Subaru dealerships by the summer. The Cosworth Impreza STI CS400 officially goes on sale in Europe this June, and is set to offer performance-car fans the thrill of a lifetime.

2019 Subaru Impreza
$18,595 Base Model (MSRP) 24/32 MPG Fuel Economy

Subaru has confirmed the car will boast an impressive 395hp at 5750rpm, sufficient to sprint 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds (compared to 5.2 seconds for the standard 296hp Impreza WRX STI). This performance will ensure the Cosworth-tuned car will be one of the swiftst all-wheel-drive hatchbacks ever. Subaru also reports the Cosworth Impreza STI CS400 will feature a bespoke brake package, with six-piston calipers and 355mm discs on the front developed in partnership with AP Racing.

A wide range of further upgrades have been made to the suspension, exhaust as well as the Impreza's exterior and interior styling. However, the car is limited to a limited edition run of 75 Cosworth Impreza STI CS400s, which will make this model even more sought after.

Price and technical specification will be announced closer to the on-sale date.
