2011 BMW Frozen Gray M3 Coupe

Jun 18, 2010

Nearing the 25th anniversary of the original BMW M3, BMW of North America today announced a production run of thirty '11 Frozen Gray M3 Coupes for the United States. The M3 features a special matte-gray paint with a deep metallic luster to accentuate the athletic lines of the legendary M3. Unique Fox Red/Black bi-color Novillo leather interior is also specified. This is the first and only opportunity to obtain Frozen Gray Metallic exterior paint on the M3 for the '11 model year in the United States.

BMW M enthusiasts will be able to reserve a car by dialing 1-800-245-4269 no earlier than 11:30AM Eastern Time on Monday, June 21, 2010. The first Frozen Gray M3s will become available for delivery in late June 2010 through Authorized BMW Centers, and the production run will be completed by the end of July 2010. MSRP will be $77,600.

Each Frozen Gray M3 will be powered by the same 4.0-liter, 414hp V8 and equipped with Double Clutch Transmission (DCT). Also specified is the new Competition Package, which adds 19" wheels, 10mm lower ride height and enhanced programming. Additionally, each purchase of the Frozen Gray M3 will include a one-day enrollment at the BMW Performance Driving School in Spartanburg, SC.

The best part of this M3 is undoubtedly the special BMW Individual matte paintwork. To achieve this luster, a special BMW ColorSystem silk matte clear coat is applied over the Space Gray Metallic base coat.

Super Street: Anytime we talk about a vehicle prototype, the overwhelming response, once some of the initial smoke has cleared (and people are done cursing out the manufacturer and demanding that their design team be fired immediately), centers heavily on claims that the production car will look nothing like the demo car. In some cases,

You know the name Joel Tan (@jt_built) from his wildly popular SR20DET-swapped, ‘40s-era Willy’s Jeep that mingles among the top of Super Street’s most popular feature cars of all time, and we expect his 1972 Nissan Skyline GT-R and Toyota Trueno of the same birth year will also have a lasting impression. Both cars feature

The “most powerful 3-cylinder in the world,” applied to Toyota’s much talked about GR Yaris still sounds a little strange when you hear it, but you can’t deny the nasty 250+hp and over 260 lb-ft. of torque that are delivered through an eager AWD system, all packed into a relatively lightweight (by modern hatchback standards)

As if to pour a little salt into the wound that the hottest hatch in ages, the AWD Toyota GR Yaris, is not being brought to North America, the interwebs has begun to conspire against us by teasing us with modified versions from some of the biggest tuners in the biz. In December, those sneak
