In addition to the Golf R Cabriolet Concept shown at the GTI-Treffen in Worthersee, Austria, VW also showed off two more Golf R concepts: known as the Color Concepts.
The first was finished in "Velvet Grey Metallic" paint, with polished 19-inch Talladega wheels, orange calipers and carbon mirror caps.
The interior was upholstered in black and grey Nappa leather with cross-stitching. The seat backs were in piano black, while the orange of the brake calipers is repeated on the seat piping.
Matching the mirror caps is a carbon steering wheel, shift lever and door sill plates.
The second Golf R was painted in "Aplomb Blue" and fitted with 19-inch "Glendale" wheels that are new to the Golf line-up, finished in "Brilliant Silver". Once again, the mirror caps, various interior accents such as the seat back and the door sill plates are made of carbon. Even the floor mats have a carbon look. The decorative seams, as on the e-brake lever, were styled in blue.
