BMW is offering X6 drivers the opportunity to enhance its capabilities, tailoring the car's features to their own individual, sporting preferences with a range of products from the BMW Performance catalog. The components translate BMW's knowledge from motorsport and apply it to the road car. They can be added individually, enabling X6 drivers to set up the car as they wish, or alternatively they may be combined to provide a full performance package.
The new BMW Performance Aerodynamics kit accentuates the sporting looks of the BMW X6 by adding a revised body-colored front bumper, side sills and a rear bumper insert. While an additional rear spoiler, rear fins in matte black and black high-gloss front kidney grilles can also be added for an even more striking look.
The addition of BMW Performance wheels, in Y-spoke design, further optimize the dynamic potential and looks of the X6. The reduced weight, cast light alloy 21" wheels feature a rolled rim and exclusive bi-color finish, a glossy outside and ferric grey paintwork between the rims. Thanks to a weight saving of approximately 4 lb, the reduction in unsprung mass improves the driving dynamics and steering behavior of the BMW X6.
All BMW Performance components are fully compatible, wholly comply with BMW's quality and safety standards, and fulfil all BMW warranty standards and requirements.
The following parts will be available through BMW North American dealers: Aero kit, rear deck spoiler, rear fins, black kidney grilles and 21" Performance wheels.
More Performance parts for the X6 will be available later this year. Ad to give you an idea, European customers can purchase a BMW Performance sports exhaust system for the BMW X6 xDrive50i and BMW X6 xDrive35i. Offering a weight reduction and an enhanced sound pattern, the revised chrome tailpipes reduce back pressure to increase engine responsiveness and driving pleasure.
There is also offers a range of interior accessories such as a Sport steering wheel with a flat bottom and Alcantara, as well as aluminum pedals as an example of the options.
It's interesting to note that both a BMW 135i and X6 equipped with BMW Performance parts recently paced the field at the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series Crown Royal 200 at Watkins Glen.
