The ultra-rugged Survivor is the first in Griffin's new Armored collection, designed to go anywhere and stand up to the toughest environments.

Designed and tested to meet or exceed US Department of Defense Standard 810F and UK Department of Defense Standard 00-35, Griffin's Survivor Extreme Duty Case is designed to protect your iPhone or iPod from extreme conditions... dirt, sand, rain, shock, vibration and a host of other environmental factors.

Survivor is built on a shatter-resistant polycarbonate frame clad in shock-absorbing silicone. A built-in screen protector seals the Multi-Touch display from the outside environment, while hinged plugs seal the dock connector, headphone port, hold switch, volume controls, and camera.

"It's my job to test, abuse, and destroy our products to see what they're capable of," said Michael O'Connor, Quality Assurance Certification Coordinator at Griffin. "We've dropped them, thrown them against - even through - walls, and we can't seem to damage the iPhone or iPod touch inside. Of course, we don't suggest you do this at home!"

A detachable heavy-duty clip secures iPhone or iPod to a belt or bag strap. Survivor is available for both iPhone 4 and iPod touch (4th generation) in a variety of colors: Black, Olive, Pink and Black, plus White and Black.

It costs $49.99 from Verizon Retail Stores or www.griffintechnology.com
