2011 Ridler Award Winner - Web Exclusive

The award, named after Don Ridler, is presented to the most outstanding new custom making its world debut at Autorama in Detroit.

America's Greatest Hot Rod Show was won this weekend by Bruce Ricks from Sapulta, OK who took the coveted Ridler Award at the 59th Annual Meguiar's Detroit Autorama Presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts.

Bruce won with his 1956 Ford Sunliner convertible but the Detroit Autorama featured the best of the best in hot rods, street machines and custom cars - all vying for Pirelli Great 8 status and the show-winning Ridler Award.

The award, named after Don Ridler, is presented to the most outstanding new custom making its world debut at Autorama in Detroit.

The best of the best are awarded Pirelli Great 8 status and the overall best-in-show winner takes the Ridler Award - the custom car world's most sought-after prize.

Pirelli Tire presented each of this weekend's Great 8 winners with $1000 as well as a custom jacket and award. Additionally, Ridler winner Bruce Ricks received $10,000 cash from General Motors, a new GM Performance Parts engine, a custom trophy and a jacket.

Bruce Ricks' 1956 Ford Sunliner convertible was fitted with 225/40 R18 (front) and 295/40R20 (rear) Pirelli P Zero tires.

The Pirelli Great 8 Award Winners were as follows:

Kenneth Tallent - McKinney, TX - 1940 Ford Hardtop
