Lameroux’s “Purple Bot” video was placed in the top five of the 43 videos that were submitted thanks to online voting. The finalist’s videos were then viewed by five celebrity judges, including Courtney Hansen (host of PowerblockTV), V8TV’s Kevin Oeste, Paul Schiefer (Magnaflow Marketing Director), custom car builders Jim and Mike Ring as well as Media-Motion producer Lynn Parsons.
Purple Bot is introduced in the video by Dr Dan. It has the ability to sense what kind of Royal Purple product is needed for each application and it’s then dispensed from his robot body.
"All the Top Five videos were entertaining, but Purple Bot was my favorite because it was a simple and memorable concept executed well. The video clearly demonstrated several specific uses of Royal Purple products. The acting was good and production quality just right. Great job, Dan," said Schiefer.
Lamoureux said: “Making the video took a week. The biggest task was finding the right parts for Purple Bot. I probably went to eight different stores before I found the perfect garbage can for his body.” He also drove two hours to Indiana to get one shot of the Purple Bot with a boat.
Lamoureux will receive his check from Reel Wars judge and V8TV host, Kevin Oeste. When asked how he plans to spend his $5000 grand prize, Lamoureux said, “I’m going to blow the money on a bunch of trivial stuff like gas, food, groceries, new brakes for my car and student loan payments. And because I need all the good karma I can get, I’ll donate a percentage of the winnings to charity.”
