Toyo Tires Sponsors UFC Middleweight Mark Munoz - Web Exclusive

Toyo Tire has announced its sponsorship of UFC Middleweight fighter, Mark Munoz as a Team Toyo Athlete for 2011.

Nicknamed “The Filipino Wrecking Machine,” Munoz has a 10-2-0 fight record. He will face Brazilian Demian Maia Saturday, June 11, during UFC 131 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada.

The 6ft tall, 33 year-old Munoz weighs 185 lb. A former wrestling coach at the University of California, Davis; Munoz specializes in both wrestling and Muay Thai. He will wear the Toyo logo on his fighting gear while also promoting the brand through appearances and marketing efforts.

“I am honored to be part of the Toyo Tires team,” said Munoz. “As a professional athlete, I am driven to perform and having the support of a great company like Toyo Tires just motivates me even more."

“We are excited to have Mark Munoz represent Team Toyo for 2011,” said Stan Chen, manager of events and motorsports, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. “Munoz is a popular fighter in the sport of mixed martial arts and will represent the Toyo Tires brand well.”
