Designed as a premium ultra-high performance summer tire, it was track-tested on the famous Nurburgring in Germany during development, to ensure it delivers increased control and precision for balanced handling in both the wet and dry.

"Improvements over the Toyo Proxes T1R include better high-speed stability, precise steering response, improved braking and cornering power at high speed," said Marty Furman at Toyo Tire USA.

A new, stiffer compound has been combined with an asymmetric, non-directional tread pattern to provide optimum cornering ability and straight-line stability. The wide outer tread blocks also deliver responsive steering and high grip. While the wide tread grooves help to channel water for improved aquaplaning resistance.

In addition to its use by the aftermarket, the new T1 Sport has been approved as original equipment on the 2011 Audi TT, TTS and TT RS, while the Audi S6 gets the Proxes T1 A0.

The Proxes T1 Sport will be available in 42 sizes with a 45 Day/500 Mile Trial Offer and also comes with a 20,000 mile warranty. The Toyo Proxes T1R will still be available in 15 sizes, ranging from 15 to 22-inch diameter.
