At the Tokyo Games Show today, Codemasters gave gamers their first hands-on experience with the PlayStation Vita edition of the new F1 2011 racing game.
To accompany the debut, a new video was also released to show the action from the game on PlayStation Vita, which can be seen here at www.eurotuner.com This version of F1 2011 has been designed to take advantage of the for PlayStation Vita’s unique abilities. The video, for example, is captured from work-in-progress footage and reveals some of the game’s key features including a two vs two player co-op mode as well as four-player competitive racing.
F1 2011 features all the official teams, drivers and circuits from this year’s F1 world championship, and the Vita version is no different. Players can compete for motorsport’s ultimate prize across a full season, including practice and qualifying sessions. But if they don’t want to run an entire season, they can enter an individual GP or jump into Time Trial mode. An additional Challenge mode is perfect for portable play, with gamers completing a range of objectives including checkpoint, gate and overtaking challenges.
Players are also invited to compete on the go with a range of multiplayer modes in which you can race wheel-to-wheel in four player races, go head-to-head in Time Trials or team up with a friend in two-on-two co-operative career mode.
Multiplayer modes can be enjoyed online or via the PlayStation Vita’s WLAN connection. Gamers can adjust race distance, tune their car, choose from a range of driving aids as well as select tire, fuel and weather options.
Release dates for the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS editions of F1 2011 have yet to be announced. But it will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on September 20 in North America.
